Corps of Engineers’ plan includes deepening river channel
Tom Steever spoke to Mike Steenhoek, Executive Director of the Soy Transportation Coalition, who says the Army Corps of Engineers’ plan to deepen the lower Mississippi River channel is welcome news for soybean growers. The Corps will dredge 256 miles of channel downstream from Baton Rouge, Louisiana from a depth of 45 feet to 50 feet to accommodate larger loads. To find out more, visit mosoy.org.
