South Dakota wheat rating down slightly on month

The USDA’s winter wheat condition rating for South Dakota declined during February.

73% of the state’s winter wheat crop is called good to excellent, 3% less than last month, but 27% above a year ago.

Surplus soil moisture levels were also down on the month and the corn and sunflower harvests are officially over.

The USDA’s weekly crop progress and condition reports resume in April.
