Seed treatments manage risk

Dr Ruhiyyih Dyrdahl-Young is a Regional Technical Field Representative with BASF.  She tells Brownfield research continues to show that there is a huge yield advantage for soybeans if planted early.  Seed treatments allow growers to manage risk in the wet and cold conditions that often occur early in the season.

BASF is bringing Obvius Plus to the market in 2020.  Obvius Plus Fungicide seed treatment contains four active ingredients that help provide disease control and early-season stress tolerance.

Dyrdahl-Young tells Brownfield on most of the soybean acres in the United States there are 2 yield-robbing pathogens: soybean cyst nematodes (SCN) and soybean sudden death syndrome (SDS). ILEVO seed treatment is on millions of those acres because it helps growers manage the risk of SCN when conditions are hot and dry and SDS when it is cold and wet.
