Professional Dairy Producers conference goes all-online
Many large group events have been canceled because of coronavirus precautions, but this week’s Professional Dairy Producers of Wisconsin conference and trade show will go on… online. Executive Director Shelly Mayer says, “We are doing a virtual conference, so our speakers are still flying in. We’re going to be working with camera men. They’re going to be live, and it will be, that virtual conference will still come to our producers.”
Mayer tells Brownfield that just like farmers do every day, they took on the challenge. “As a dairy farmer, right now, this time of year, we are looking forward to some information that fills up our cup and gives us new insights, so we pushed forward on there’s got to be a way to deliver this.”
Meyer says attendees registered by five-o-clock Tuesday will get a link to watch everything live, or they can get a recording of the conference after it’s over.
Typically, the PDPW Business Conference is held at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison, Wisconsin with a trade show and several keynote speakers and concurrent educational breakout sessions. With this year’s virtual conference, the schedule will be modified, and the breakout presentations will be sequential allowing members to see every presentation and gain continuing education credits.
