Public playground equipment will be closed to the public effective Tuesday, March 24, 2020, and continuing through Thursday, April 16, 2020, according to the Muscatine Parks and Recreation Department.

Muscatine Parks and Recreation Department has adopted guidelines from the Center of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the National Recreation and Park Association in an effort to assist in the prevention of COVID-19 exposure.

During playground, restroom, and drinking fountain closures, the public is asked to self-regulate while continuing to use Muscatine parks. The Parks and Recreation Department encourages the use of open spaces and outdoor recreation areas while maintaining social distancing and limiting non-essential interpersonal contact.
