House passes relief bill

The U.S. House has passed the 484-Billion-dollar package with relief for small businesses, including farms, and for hospitals. The bill also expands COVID-19 testing funds.

The bulk of the money will go into the Paycheck Protection Program – another $320-Billion – which farmers will be eligible for. It’s designed to cover two months of wage costs. The bill also allows some farms to participate in the SBA’s Economic Injury Disaster Loan program. Ag businesses with fewer than 500 employees will be eligible.

The Senate passed the bill earlier and President Trump is expected to sign it into law.
