MO DNR suspends some animal feeding regs for now

The Missouri Department of Natural Resources is suspending some requirements for animal feeding operations because of the impact of COVID-19.

The DNR says it will temporarily suspend provisions that apply to permitting, buffer zones and notification requirements for existing facilities.

The pandemic is preventing some animal feeding operations from transporting animals which means they might not be able to maintain their normal class size, which would normally trigger other requirements.

DNR says it has NOT suspended any environmental protection requirements.
