Illinois 4-H shows through July 5th going virtual

All in-person events sponsored by University of Illinois Extension through July 5th, including 4-H shows, have been canceled or transitioned to an online format.

Illinois 4-H Director Lisa Diaz says they are not able to postpone that many events to later in the year and it is unclear when large group gatherings will be able to take place, so they are working on logistics for members to exhibit their projects virtually.

Using an online system, members will be able to submit documentation such as photos or videos of their project and explanations of their work. Diaz says judges will still provide valuable feedback, award and state-fair selection will remain the same and they will use the online format again should state fair be cancelled.

Decisions about events beyond July 6th will be released by the first day of the month before the scheduled date.
