Michigan beans go to state food banks

Michigan food banks are getting a large donation from the dry bean industry.  Farmers, processors, and shippers are giving seven tons of beans to the Food Bank Council of Michigan and their seven food bank partners.

The beans have been packaged in two-pound packages for ease of distribution to families.

The donation was made possible through the Michigan Bean Commission, Michigan Bean Shippers, with packaging and handling by Howard City-based Carlson-Arbogast Farm and Pigeon-based Cooperative Elevator Co.
