Social media posts lead to removal of National FFA officer

The National FFA Organization has removed Western Region Vice President Lyle Logemann from his national officer position following the discovery of “concerning” social media posts.

National FFA executives say the posts, made prior to his service as a national officer, violate the organization’s code of ethics and commitment to appreciate and promote diversity. Logemann took responsibility for the posts, admitting that they do not reflect the ideals of the organization.

In the future, all national officer candidates will be subject to thorough background checks, including vetting of their social media activities by external professional firms.

The National FFA officer team will continue to operate the remainder of the year with five officers.
