EPA will allow use of existing dicamba stocks
The EPA announced late Monday afternoon it is cancelling the registrations of the three dicamba products subject to a 9th Circuit Court ruling but will allow growers and applicators to use existing stocks through July 31st.
The agency said use of the products must be consistent with the product’s previously approved label.
The three products in question were Bayer’s Xtendimax, BASF’s Engenia and Corteva’s FeXapan. Syngenta’s Tavium was not part of the court’s decision and was not mentioned in EPA’s news release.
EPA said its order “will mitigate some of the devastating economic consequences of the Court’s decision for growers, and particularly rural communities” at a time they are experiencing added stress due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
