American Soybean Association launches #SeeSoyHarvest campaign
Farmers are unable to meet with legislators in Washington D.C. because of the coronavirus pandemic, but that isn’t stopping soybean growers from bringing harvest and other issues to Capitol Hill.
The American Soybean Association launched the See Soy Harvest campaign today that features harvest videos submitted from 30 major soy-producing states.
Bill Gordon is president of the ASA and a farmer from Worthington, Minnesota.
“I did a video, for instance, talking about transportation,” he says. “Trade, biofuels, and anything that affects the farm you’ll probably see in these videos.”
He tells Brownfield the campaign can also help clear up some misconceptions about agriculture.
“This is real life farming,” he says. “Legislators that are making policies and decisions however many thousand miles away from the farm can realize how it impacts farmers, rural communities, and farm families,” he says.
New videos will be released on Tuesdays and Thursdays during October.
