Farm Bureau poll shows trust in farmers is rising

A new poll by American Farm Bureau shows farmers are gaining trust in the eyes of most Americans.

The survey of more than 2,000 adults in the U.S. found that 88 percent trust farmers, an increase of four percent from AFBF’s June poll.

Farm Bureau president Zippy Duvall says Americans have a high level of trust in farmers and understand that they are committed to protecting the soil, water and air.

Fifty-eight percent of those surveyed rate the sustainability practices of U.S. farmers positively, and more than eight in ten were impressed when learning that 140 million acres have been put into conservation programs.
