Farmer says crop prices have been a bright spot

A Midwestern farmer says higher crop prices have been a bright spot in a year full of challenges.

West Central Ohio Farmer Patty Mann says prices have been a silver lining during the coronavirus pandemic.

“The way demand has ramped up and with some of the supply issues across the country- the drought and the derecho in the western states, everything kind of lined up to speak toward higher prices,” she says.

She tells Brownfield the rise in prices has provided a much-needed boost for farmers.

It’s been fun watch that run up in the market,” she says. “Everybody should be on a little better ground and have a little more optimism as we head into 2021.”

Mann is president of the Ohio Corn and Wheat Growers Association.
