Hormel Foods opens new production facility in Nebraska
Hormel Foods, based in Minnesota, has opened a new production facility – Papillion Foods located in Papillion, Nebraska just outside of Omaha.
The facility will make salami and dry sausage products under the Columbus Craft Meats and Hormel brands.
The 535,000-square-foot facility houses state-of-the-art technology including automatic guided vehicles for product transport throughout the plant, automatic rack assist for lifting objects and motion sensed LED lighting.
During the first year of operation, the company expects to hire 350 team members with the majority being filled by local residents.
