Fire smolders a week after grain bin explosion, employee released from hospital

A fire resulting from a December 31st grain bin explosion continues to smolder inside bins at West Central AGRIServices in the western Missouri town of Adrian. Officials at MFA, which owns the facility, tell Brownfield grain bin fire experts are on the scene monitoring the situation.

An MFA official tells Brownfield an AGRIServices employee, injured in the explosion and Life Flighted to a Kansas City hospital, was released from the hospital Wednesday.

The cause of the explosion is being investigated. No foul play is suspected.
