Bipartisan House Lawmakers ask Trump to deny SREs

The House Biofuels Caucus is asking President Trump to uphold his commitment to the RFS and reject any pending small refinery exemptions.

The bipartisan group of lawmakers says the exemptions are “contrary to legislative intent” and will further devastate rural economies.

The biofuels industry continues to face demand-destruction caused by the coronavirus pandemic. The lawmakers say It would be inappropriate to grant any petitions until “pending litigation on the issue is concluded.”

The letter was signed by: Rodney Davis, Mike Bost, Cheri Bustos, Adam Kinzinger, and Darin LaHood of Illinois; Jackie Walorski of Indiana; Cindy Axne, Randy Feenstra, Ashley Hinson, and Mariannette Miller-Meeks of Iowa; Angie Craig, Michelle Fischbach, Tom Emmer, and Jim Hagedorn of Minnesota; Ann Wagner, Vicky Hartzler, Sam Graves, Blaine Luetkemeyer, and Emanuel Cleaver of Missouri; Don Bacon and Adrian Smith of Nebraska; Ron Kind of Wisconsin; and Dusty Johnson of South Dakota.
