2021 Crop Insurance Decision Tool available
The 2021 version of a crop insurance decision tool created by the University of Illinois farmdoc team, has been released.
The tool is a downloadable Microsoft Excel workbook that includes farmer-paid premiums for different federally regulated policies administered through the USDA’s Risk Management Agency.
The tool calculates premiums, evaluates insurance payments and provides historical data useful for making crop insurance decisions for multiple crops.
Users can narrow their scenarios by county and crop to see premiums for individual farm level plans including revenue protection, the harvest price exclusion and yield protection as well as the Supplemental Coverage Option and the new Enhanced Coverage Option.
