Wisconsin names 2021 Outstanding Young Farmer, 2020 winner advances nationally

Wisconsin’s 2021 Outstanding Young Farmer Award has been given to Shane and Jennifer Sauer of Waterloo.  They operate Sauer Dairy, where they manage 150 registered Holsteins and 650 acres of cropland.  Shane is the third generation to run the farm.  The Sauer’s are also the 2021 Speak up for Agriculture award winners.

This year’s runners-up are Joe and Ashley Dudkiewicz who operate a beef and cash crop operation near Crivitz.

Last year’s Wisconsin Outstanding Young Farmers have been selected as finalists for the National Outstanding Young Farmer award.

Philip and Laura Finger from Oconto have 540 cows and raise crops on 19-hundred acres.  Philip has an interest in genetics, and Laura enjoys working with calves.  This year’s national awards will be held with the 2022 awards ceremony because of COVID 19 restrictions.
