Biden administration suspends CFAP payments

The Biden administration is suspending the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program.

As part of the White House Regulatory Freeze Pending Review, the USDA says it is halting the processing and payments under CFAP until further notice.

Farm Service Agency offices will continue to accept applications during the evaluation period, however.

American Farm Bureau president Zippy Duvall says AFBF recognizes the new administration’s desire to review important programs, but he’s urging the swift resumption of CFAP because it’s a lifeline for farmers and ranchers across the country.

The USDA’s latest round of assistance was announced January 15th and expanded eligibility for some producers and commodities.
