Darell was born on October 31, 1947, in Rock Island, the son of Charles T. and Joyce E. Stifter Nesham.  He married Betty ‘Arlene’ Brewer Wells on October 18, 1997 at Wesley United Methodist Church.

The Air Force was Darell’s life during his 21 years of service.  He spent time as a jet engine mechanic, but the majority of his years were spent rigging and packing parachutes, eventually becoming parachute supervisor. After his time of service, he worked as an over-the-road truck driver, then at HWH, and later at AllSteel until retirement.  Later in his life he enjoyed simple pleasures like going on walks, along with attending dinner shows and going on cruises.  He cherished the time he had with his close-knit family, especially time he spent taking care of his grandkids.

Darell is survived by his wife, Arlene; son Ryan Nesham and his wife, Jill; stepchildren, Jodi Johnson and her husband Douglas, Steven Wells and his wife, Terri, and Patsy Land and her husband, Leroy; grandchildren, Madi Nesham, Ella Nesham, Natasha Elam, Ashley Mayen, Sarah Wells, McKenzie Land, Brittney Land, and Levi Land; 14 great-grandchildren; siblings, Sandra DePyper and her husband, Don, and John Wiegel and his wife, Lisa; and his first wife, Judith Kittleson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his second wife, Saundra Nesham; a sister, Jodi Patez; and a brother, Thomas Nesham
