More Drought relief in the West; “mild” temperatures ahead for the Heartland

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for above-normal temperatures nationwide, with the greatest likelihood of warmth stretching from the southern Plains to the Great Lakes region. 

Meanwhile, near- or below-normal precipitation in most areas between the Rockies and Appalachians should contrast with wetter-than-normal weather in the West and the middle and southern Atlantic States.
