Iowa Ag Secretary Mike Naig says the U.S. needs more free trade agreements.
“Trade matters,” he said. “We benefit when export markets are expanding and when trade is being conducted smoothly.”
He tells Brownfield trade missions are a critical part of building trust and facilitating relationships.
“In a disrupted world, why aren’t we doing more business with our friends? We ought to be focused on that,” Naig said. “It’s good for us and it’s good for the consumers in those markets as well.”
Naig says he recently returned from an agricultural trade mission to Japan and South Korea that was coordinated by the Iowa Economic Development Authority.
