Emergency grain storage funding available

Farmers in nine states who lost grain bins or handling equipment due to storms could be eligible for assistance from USDA’s Farm Service Agency.

The USDA’s new Emergency Grain Storage Facility Assistance Program has $20 million for counties with eligible disaster events from December 2021 through August 1, 2022 in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Missouri, Minnesota, Kentucky, North Dakota, South Dakota and Tennessee.

South Dakota Corn CEO DaNita Murray tells Brownfield farmers recovering from Derecho damage who want to apply should reach out to their local FSA office.
