It will be at least another month before Missouri farmers start spring planting and farmers are getting ready.
In northeast Missouri, Matt Wright says local farmers have already started to apply fertilizer and while soil moisture has improved, more will be needed.
“The area where I farm we need at least half an inch of rain every week. I don’t have a lot of irrigation, so timely rains are important.”
North-central Missouri farmer Cody Brock says fields need to dry up a little so fertilizer can be applied on his farm.
