A broad range of temps across the Heartland; pattern to remain active to unsettled

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of near- or below-normal temperatures and near- or above-normal precipitation across most of the country.  Warmer-than-normal weather will be confined to the South, from the western Gulf Coast region to the southern Atlantic Coast.

Meanwhile drier-than-normal conditions should be limited to portions of the Pacific Northwest, northern Rockies, and northern High Plains.
