Bednarski optimistic about planting

Michigan Farm Bureau’s president says it’s still too wet for fieldwork near his farm in the Thumb as growers anxiously await the start of planting.

Carl Bednarski tells Brownfield sugarbeets are the first crop to go in on his Tuscola County farm.

“We would love to have them in by the middle of April, even though the weather might not look like it outside right now, it doesn’t take long to turn that around and have the ground dry out,” he shares.
