Warm, wet March in Ohio ahead of planting

A wet, warm month of March has Ohio looking to planting season.

The USDA says average statewide precipitation was 1.5 inches above most years and while there was some variance, the average statewide temperature was more than a degree above normal.

That wet weather helped improve soil moisture levels ahead of planting with the state now reporting a surplus on more than half of topsoil and nearly a third of subsoil.
