Cristian ‘Cris’ Martinez, 20, of Muscatine, passed away on April 22, 2023.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 28, 2023, at the Saint Mary Mathias Catholic Church. Father Marco Rodríguez will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Vlad Salamanca, Bruno Rosas, Lucio Pineda, Erik Rubio, Adrian Rubio, and Jiovanni Rubio. Honorary pallbearers will be Cesar Martinez and Alonzo Rivas.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 27, 2023, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. There will be a Rosary Service following visitation at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family. Online condolences: www.wittichfuneralhome.com
Cristian was born on September 26, 2002, in Iowa City, the son of Miguel and Evelia Salamanca Martinez.
Cristian was a soccer player for the Blackhawk Braves and the Muscatine Muskies. He was very passionate about the gym and lifting weights and was a content creator on YouTube for body building. Cristian enjoyed going to car meets with his friends and loved to spend time with his family. Cristian was a friend to many.
Cristian is survived by his parents; brother, Jerry Martinez; sister, Adriana Martinez; nephews, Cesar Martinez and Alonzo Rivas; niece, Melanie Martinez; many aunts and uncles; and his beloved dog, Styles
He is preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents.
