Timely rains beneficial for NE Indiana farmer’s crops

A northeast Indiana farmer says recent rains have been beneficial.

Don Wyss tells Brownfield crops have rebounded nicely.  “The outlook is very positive.”

He says he’s monitoring crop conditions closely. “There are signs of increased disease pressure,’ he says.  “These last few weeks have been heavier in moisture, humidity, and fog.  The environment that leads to some of these increases in disease pressures.”

Wyss says harvest is still quite a few weeks away, but overall he’s optimistic about yields.
