Most crop conditions in Michigan improved following recent cool, wet weather. Some parts of the northern lower and upper peninsula are abnormally dry.
As of last Sunday, the USDA says corn is rated at 52 percent good to excellent with 78 percent in the dough stage, and 44 percent dented. About 14 percent of corn has been harvested for silage.
Soybeans are 95 percent are setting pods, seven percent dropping leaves with 46 percent of the crop in good to excellent condition.
