An eastern Iowa farmer says corn harvest is picking up steam in his area.
Lance Lillbridge raises corn, alfalfa, and red angus cattle in Benton County. “I think we’re two weeks at least before we harvest anything, but there are some in our area not too far away that have started,” he said. “I have heard corn as low as 19%.”
He tells Brownfield a recent heat wave caused some conditions to deteriorate, but he remains optimistic about this year’s crop.
