Harvest pace for corn, rice, and soybeans continues to pick up.
According to the latest crop progress and conditions report from the USDA, 68% of corn is harvested with 96% mature. Soybeans are 12% harvested with 38% mature and 49% dropping leaves, 76% of the crop is called good to excellent. Rice is 40% harvested, 83% mature, and 71% rated good to excelling. Cotton is 67% opening bolls with 69% rated good to excellent.
Peanuts are 14% dug with 72% rated good to excellent. The second cutting of hay is 93% complete with 46% of alfalfa rated good to excellent.
Topsoil is 40% and subsoil is 46% adequate to surplus.
