Iowa corn harvest at 5%, soybeans 3% harvested – Voice Of Muscatine

Iowa farmers are getting a good jump on harvest.

USDA’s latest weekly crop update says corn harvested for grain is five percent compete, about a week ahead of both last year and the five-year average.

Soybean harvest is also ahead of normal at three percent.

Some farmers are also working on their fourth cutting of alfalfa.
