A farmer in west-central Iowa is nearing the end of a better-than-expected harvest.
Brent Johnson grows corn and soybeans in Calhoun County and says he should be done bringing in the crop by the end of the week.
“It’s what I had hoped for but not what I expected necessarily. So all in all, I think we’re turning out with a good season and really blessed.”
He tells Brownfield despite drought persisting in western Iowa for the second year in a row, modern farming practices and genetics salvaged yields.
