Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza has been confirmed on a commercial broiler breeding facility in Madison County, Arkansas. Arkansas Secretary of Agriculture Wes Ward says the state has taken immediate action to contain the disease and will continue to work with poultry producers and the industry to protect against its spread. Ward says poultry is safe to eat. HPAI is not a public health concern and the virus does not affect poultry meat or egg products.
