Fall leaf collection effort is wrapping up in Muscatine; Compost facility closes December 17 – Voice Of Muscatine

The final pass through each of the city zones as part of the Fall Leaf Collection Program is underway according to officials with the Department of Public Works. Leaf vacuum trucks have completed collection efforts in zones 1 and 2, and completed work in Zone 3 on December 11. DPW officials anticipate zones 3-8 will be completed by the end of the week of the first of next week.

There will be no further collection of leaves by DPW this year.

Please note that the Compost Facility at the Muscatine Transfer Station will be closing for the season on Sunday (Dec. 17). Residents will be able to haul yard waste to the Compost Facility from 12-5 p.m. Monday-Friday and 9 a.m-5 p.m. on Saturday. The facility will also be open 12-5 p.m. on Sunday but will close for the season after that.
