James F. “Jimmie” Wade – Voice Of Muscatine



James F. “Jimmie” Wade, 73, of Wapello, took his place among the angels on Tuesday, December 12, 2023. A celebration of life will be held Sunday, December 17, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the American Legion, 110 S. Houser St., Muscatine, Iowa with military honors at 11:30 a.m. The Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral and Cremation Services of Muscatine is caring for the family. James was born September 2, 1950 in Muscatine, Iowa, the son of James Charles and Shirley Ann (Van Auken) Wade. He served honorably in the United States Army during Vietnam. Jimmie was united in marriage to Bertie DiAnne Berry on February 12, 1972 in Unionville, Missouri. The couple spent 50 years together.

Jimmie was a truck driver for over 30 years. He enjoyed hunting, particularly coon, deer and hog hunting. He also enjoyed fishing and was an avid motorcyclist.

He is survived by his sons: Tod (Michele) Wade and Troy (Carina) Jones; “the bossy daughter,” Tammi (Tim) Edwards; siblings; Patricia Ann (Glen) Miller of Morning Sun; Pamela Haskins of Muscatine; Debbie (Rick) Hines of Grandview; and Tammy Anderson of Columbus Junction; grandchildren; Angie (Chris Knerr) Weikert, Tate (Ayla) Peltier, Adaliea (Rion) Wade,  Jeb Wade, Sydney (Brady) Bailey, Steven Bailey and Shaun Bailey; great-grandchildren; Bailey, Briyer, Briann, Austin, Leo, Audrey, Presley, Kage and Gavin; great-great-grandchildren: Aurora and Amaria; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Harley.

He was preceded in death by parents; his wife, Bertie, in 2022; and daughter, Kandi Jones.

He is now with Bertie riding the cloud highways.
