Beverly J. Freyermuth – Voice Of Muscatine

Beverly J. Freyermuth, 87, passed away on Friday, December 29, 2023, at Wilton Retirement Community.

Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at Walnut Park Baptist Church. The Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Pastor David Wood will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at the church. Memorials may be made to the Wilton Retirement Community.

Beverly was born on March 21, 1936, in Iowa, the daughter of Milburn Mills and Vivian Calvert Wonderlich. She married Paul H. Freyermuth on August 6, 1954, at Walnut Street Baptist Church. Together for 66 years.

Beverly was a member of the Walnut Park Baptist Church. She graduated from West Liberty High School and later attended MCC. She worked as a secretary for the dean of Palmer College and several instructors at MCC. She was a caretaker at Ozark Regular Baptist Camp.She later was a housekeeper at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch at Hurricane Mills.

She loved her family very much, she raised seven children and dedicated herself to their deep faith, strong education and exposing them to fine arts.

Beverly is survived by her children, Gerald (Kelly) Freyermuth of Brinkley, Arkansas, Laura (Steve) Curry of Muscatine, Lana (Tony) Harrison of West Plains, Missouri, Stanley (Cheryle) Freyermuth of Muscatine, Lisa (Marty) Irwin of Muscatine, and Kyle Freyermuth of West Plains, Missouri; 17 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchildren; siblings, Christine (Duane) Schlabach, Sid (Pam) Mills, and Van (Diane) Mills; sisters-in-law, Debra and Ann; and brothers-in-law, Wendell.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Paul; son, Stephen; parents; siblings, Gaylord Mills, Darrell Mills, and Cassandra Allen; and several close aunts and uncles.
