Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of near- or above-normal temperatures in California, the Great Basin, the Desert Southwest, and much of New England, while colder-than-normal conditions will cover most areas from the Rockies eastward. 

Meanwhile, near- or above normal precipitation nearly nationwide should contrast with drier-than-normal weather from the Desert Southwest to the southern High Plains.
