Frigid weather from the Heartland to the Southern States – Voice Of Muscatine

Frigid weather from the Heartland to the Southern States

Across the Corn Belt, lingering snow showers are mostly confined to areas downwind of the Great Lakes.  Elsewhere, frigid, breezy weather prevails.  Midwestern temperatures plunged below 0°F Tuesday morning from the Mississippi Valley westward, maintaining stress on livestock that endured back-to-back snowstorms last week.  The most significant accumulations stretch from eastern Nebraska to Michigan, with some locations reporting more than a foot of snow on the ground.

On the Plains, frigid conditions persist.
