A mild, generally drier weather pattern ahead for most of the Heartland

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for near- or above-normal temperatures nationwide, with the Pacific Coast States and the nation’s northern tier as far as the Great Lakes region having the greatest likelihood of experiencing warmer-than-normal weather.

Meanwhile, near- or below-normal precipitation across most of the country should contrast with wetter-than-conditions in northern California, the Pacific Northwest, and the Atlantic Coast States from Georgia to New Jersey.
