Kathleen Rose Brockert – Voice Of Muscatine

Kathleen Rose Brockert, 89, passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at her home, surrounded by family.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at the Ss, Mary Mathias Catholic Church. The Reverend Isaac Doucette will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Rosary will be held at 6:30 p.m. following the visitation. Kathleen was born on November 26, 1934, in Muscatine, the daughter of Charles W. and Gertrude F. Everett Yerington. She married Keith W. Brockert on June 26, 1954, at the St. Mathias Church.

Kathleen was a member of the Ss. Mary Mathias Catholic Church.

Kathleen enjoyed being outside whether it was going north to go trout fishing and catching bullheads, gardening flowers, picking tomatoes, or going on walks with her husband. She also enjoyed crocheting, puzzles, coloring, watching game shows, Wheel of Fortune being her favorite, dancing, and cooking. Kathleen was an avid Hawkeyes and Cardinals fan. She cherished the time she would watch her grandkids, great grandkids, and even the pups. Kathleen loved sitting on the swing in the backyard with her husband watching the birds, especially the hummingbirds and cardinals.

Kathleen is survived by her husband, Keith; children, Jim Brockert and wife, Amy, Karen Brockert, Joyce Langrehr and significant other, John, Jean Salazar and her husband, Jessie, and Lois Eisenbacher and husband, John; grandchildren, Cara, Christopher, Helena, Jonathan, Benjamin, Nicholas, Elizabeth, Lary, Heather, Jason, Sarah, Nathan, Jennifer, Jasmine, Jessie, Jonathan, Matthew, and Brittany; several great grandchildren; brother, James Yerington and wife, Rosalie; sister-in-law, Delores Duncan; and brothers-in-law, Harry Brockert and Benjamin Brockert.

She is preceded in death by her parents; son, David Brockert; grandsons, Kieth, James, and Dustin; and siblings, Donald, John, Leo, Charles, and Gertrude.
