“Promotional activities that we are doing with checkoff dollars from our producers in this state.” She says, “We just finished up February being ‘Heart Healthy Month.’ So, we focused a lot on those healthier cuts of pork including the loin.”
Tirey tells Brownfield growing demand for pork is a year-round effort…
“We have to do a better job of educating consumers so that they don’t experience a dry pork chop and then don’t purchase our product again.” She says, “We need to continue to work on and educate those consumers as they’re making their purchasing decisions.”
The IPPA’s Chicago promotional efforts were highlighted during this week’s National Pork Industry Forum.
