Milk futures were lower in the near months and the cash dairy markets were mostly lower Monday on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.
March Class III milk was down $0.10 at $16.47. April was down $0.16 at $15.92. May was down $0.14 at $16.34. June was down $0.07 at $17.13.
July through January contracts ranged from unchanged in October and November to ten cents higher in September. Monday’s Class III trade volume was 1,454 contracts.
Dry whey was up $0.0050 at $0.4150. No sales were recorded.
Forty-pound cheese blocks were down $0.0250 at $1.4350. Five sales were recorded, ranging from $1.4350 to $1.44.
Cheese barrels were down $0.0275 at $1.46.
