Robert Henry Kaiser – Voice Of Muscatine


Robert Henry Kaiser age 84, the son of Henry and Mildred Kaiser, was born September 26th, 1939, in Goodland, Kansas. He was the youngest of their seven children, 5 girls and 2 boys. He passed away on Monday, March 25, 2024.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at Calvary Church. Pastor Bruce Martin will officiate. The Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

Robert (Bob) graduated from Auburn High School and attended Peru State College, in 1961, earning a BA degree in Music Education. He taught Music Education in Anita, Iowa where he met Karen Ann Moretenson. They were married on September 2, 1962.

He served as a graduate assistant at Western State University in Gunnison, Colorado from 1962 until 1963, where he received a Masters degree in Music Education.

From 1963 to 1966 he taught music in Peder, Nebraska, moving next to Ottumwa, Iowa High School Music Department from 1966 to 1972. From 1972 to 1980 he was the High School Band Director at Muscatine High School in Muscatine, Iowa.

In 1981, he earned his EDS degree in Education from Western Illinois University. Later, Bob started a fundraising company called Kaiser Enterprises Inc. He enjoyed working with schools in Iowa and Illinois on their fundraising projects until January of 2002, when he retired due to health reasons.

Bob was a talented artist who enjoyed painting. He was generous with time, patience, love, and money. His sense of humor was excellent, and he especially enjoyed telling jokes. He loved traveling, cars, and fishing. Photography was also one of his special talents and he left us with many wonderful photos.

He is survived by his wife, Karen; son, R. Scott; and many nieces and nephews.
