The Department of Public Works will be installing a temporary stop sign at the intersection of Bidwell and Leroy streets starting Wednesday, May 15. The implementation comes following many complaints about the intersection and several recent accidents. The temporary stop sign will be placed on northbound Bidwell at Leroy Street.

The traffic safety committee made the decision based on a recent traffic county study that was completed in April. The northbound leg of Bidwell and the eastbound leg of Leroy are both uncontrolled and have been the location for several accidents in the past, including one just a few weeks ago.

Depending on the results of the placement, the traffic committee may recommend to City Council that the stop sign on northbound Bidwell become permanent.
