Sections of Cedar Street and Iowa Avenue will be closed to traffic starting as early as Monday, June 17, according to the Department of Public Works.
Cedar Street will be closed to all traffic from the intersection with East 8th Street to just past the East 9th Street intersection starting as early as Monday as part of Phase 6AB of the West Hill Sanitary and Storm Sewer Separation Project. In addition, local traffic only will be permitted onto Cedar Street from the intersection with Fulliam toward East 9th Street.
The closure and traffic restrictions are dependent on KE Flatworks, Inc., wrapping up underground work on Sycamore and mobilizing resources to the Cedar Street worksite. Sycamore Street will remain closed to through traffic from 10th Street to West Fulliam Avenue.
Northbound Cedar Street traffic will be detoured onto East 8th Street to Mulberry Avenue to Parham Street and back to Cedar Street. Southbound will be detoured onto Parham to Mulberry, to East 8th, and back to Cedar.
Underground work and pavement restoration is tentatively scheduled to be completed August 21, weather permitting.
Iowa Avenue will be closed to all traffic from 10th to just past East 11th Street starting as early as Monday as work on Phase 6C of the West Hill Sanitary and Storm Sewer Separation Project continues. Local traffic will be permitted from Fulliam to the full closure at East 11th Street.
The closure and traffic restrictions are dependent on Langman Construction, Inc., wrapping up underground work on East 11th Street and mobilizing resources to the Iowa Avenue worksite.
Northbound Iowa Avenue traffic will be detoured at 8th Street to either Roscoe Avenue to the west or Mulberry Avenue to the east.
Underground work and pavement restoration is tentatively scheduled to be completed in early August, weather permitting.
