Weed Park Lagoon Project soon begins; use caution while navigating lower loop of Weed Park – Voice Of Muscatine

(City of Muscatine)

The Weed Park Lagoon Project is set to begin next week following approval of the contract and bond by the Muscatine City Council. The $442,172.25 project was awarded to Sulzco, Inc., of Muscatine.

The project involves renovating the two lagoons and repairing and/or replacing some of the existing amenities. This will include bank stabilization, observation deck replacement, lagoon dredging, trail development, bend pods, duck island stabilization, repairing lagoon leaks, and addressing the drainage flow into the lagoons.

The lower loop will remain open to traffic during the project time period but there may be some temporary closures as equipment is moved in and around the lagoons. Drivers are urged to use caution and allow for plenty of time when driving around the lower loop.
