The American Melody, one of three cruise ships owned by the American Cruise Lines that will be stopping in Muscatine during the 2024 cruise season, arrived in town last Monday.
Passengers disembarked to explore Muscatine last Tuesday and departed later that afternoon. Once the ship left, for the first time in about a month the parking area was open to the public.
Only within hours of the ship arriving did city crews complete the cleanup from the flood of 2024.
